Honey bees communicate with each other with their waggle dance. They are able to share messages about where to go, where are the delicious flowers, how far are they from their hive, etc.
Honey bees‘ dance is their special language through which they communicate. It consists of a series of different moves. These moves depend on what the honey bee has to tell the others. They can share information about where they can all find food and water or even to inform a swarming colony about where a good location for forming a new hive exists. Honey bees transfer all this information only with the way in which they waggle their body.
If the message is about the discovery of a new flower, they perform their round dance. The closer the food is, the more they cycle. The honey bees add tail wags to the round dance if the food is more distant, more than 80m away. The more distant the food source is, the more waggling bees include in their dance. This is the waggle dance. It is performed by round dancing with tail waggling in the middle. Bees developed this very specific language which is a sign of their great intelligence.
