Can Bees Make Cannabis Honey?

A French man named Nicolas Trainer-bees (40) has become a viral sensation and something of a legend. This is because of his claim that he trained his bees to make cannabis honey. Nicolas has been using the nickname “Trainer-bees” for over 20 years. He posted a video that allegedly shows his bees feasting on marijuana flowers.

According to his saying, he loves all kinds of animals, especially bees. He loves beekeeping, which makes one side of the story.

On the other side of the story, there is Nicholas’s connection with cannabis. As a child, Nicolas had troubles at school because he was hyperactive. He started consuming cannabis when he understood that medicinal marijuana would help him with his condition.

Honey and cannabis are natural products produced with minimal human intervention. So, Nicolas found a way to combine his love both for bees and cannabis. He also claims that the bees are not feeling “the buzz” of the plant. He says that there is no room for concern because “the bees that produce the canna-honey are not affected by cannabinoids because they do not have an endocannabinoid system”.

How do the bees produce cannabis honey?

According to him, the cannabis honey is produced in the following way: bees harvest the weed resin and then they take it to the hive. There, they process it as it were normal nectar.

“Everything that passes through the body of a bee is improved,” says Nicolas. The resin collected from trees and plants (including cannabis), is transformed into propolis, which is an antiseptic, antibacterial, antibiotic, and anti-fungal. The bees will also use the resin from any strain, meaning there are endless possibilities for creating different kinds of canna-honey.

The claims of this beekeeper are a subject of criticism on social media worldwide. Some are pro, some are against it.
