Bee Swarm Followed a Car For 2 Days Trying To Rescue Their Queen Trapped in Back!

This amazing, and at the same time very strange, event happened in 2016 in the town of Haverfordwest, in Wales. It happened when Carol Howarth parked her car in order to do some shopping. She had no idea what is about to happen and how surprised would she be.

In fact, during the time of her shopping, a swarm of around 20.000 got on her car. This swarm was noticed by a local man, Tom Moses, who also called a team of beekeepers.

He says: “It was spectacular. I was driving through when I spotted the big brown splodge,”

“A lot of people were really amazed by it, cars were slowing down and people were taking pictures of it.” – he adds.

Furthermore, he added: “I was a little bit concerned, with it being in the middle of town outside a pub, that someone might do something stupid and get hurt or do something stupid and hurt the bees“.

Everything seemed to be settled when the beekeepers did their job. But, this was not the case because the swarm managed to find the car again. When Carol Howarth saw this, she called the beekeepers once again.

Roger Burns from Pembrokeshire Beekeepers stated: “We think the queen bee had been attracted to something in the car, perhaps something sweet, and had got into a gap on the boot’s wiper blade or perhaps the hinge. The swarm of around 20,000 had followed the queen bee and were sat around on the boot of the car.”

Happily, the whole event had a positive ending. The bees and their queen were reunited harmlessly.
