The Best Spring Flowers That Help The Bees

It feels so good to know that we can do something to help the bees. All we have to do is plant spring flowers that they need and provide the bees with good and healthy environment. Besides helping the bees, we also help the flowers as we know that they depend on these kinds of insects for pollination. Even though bees work hard in finding their pollen and nectar, this can sometimes be very difficult for them.

Throughout the winter the bees

are hiding inside their hives. So, when they come out in the spring, it would be nice to have some flowers around them. They will need all the pollen and nectar that they can get in order to recover the energy. Honey bees, for example, become active as soon as the weather gets better and warmer and spring flowers appear.

Snowdrops

The beautiful snowdrops can be planted in dormant bulb form. Also, they can be planted in the green, and according to some people, this is even better. Even more, they are great to be planted under trees and shrubs. Snowdrops are a great source of food for our lovely pollinators.

Apple Tree

It is best to plant Apple Trees over the winter. Right after the spring bulbs are fading, the Apple Trees will have their spring blossom. This is just excellent for the bees. On the other hand, bees visiting the fruit trees it is also good for the trees because they need pollination in order to have fruits.

Bluebell

The best time of the year for planting Bluebells is autumn. They are best if planted as bulbs. You should plant Bluebells around the base of trees in drifts. The bees will be buzzing around it and they will love it!

Primrose

This is a kind of flower that mostly lives on a position with a lot of sun, but it also needs a small partial shade. Primroses have a lot of pollen to offer the bees. Plus, they are amazingly beautiful and are great for keeping in containers and pots.

Flowering Currant

Among the many benefits of this flower, we can name that it is really easy to grow it. They love the sun and will provide your bees with a lot of pollen. Some of the varieties of the Flowering Currant will also provide small black berries.
