Dr. Norm Gary started beekeeping 70 years ago in Florida. Now, he is 83 years old and is still active in beekeeping. Besides having the wonderful bees as friends, his other passion is the music. He is playing clarinet covered in bees
.Even though he is 83, he is still actively doing research about bees. He has a long career which embraces his wide beekeeping experience. He was a professor at the University of California for 32 years, he has 40 years of bee stunts for Hollywood movies, as well as being a TV entertainer on more than 70 shows. He also has Guinness records for bee stunts and public service projects related with beekeeping.
Recently he published his book “Honey Bee Hobbyist” with advice for the beginner beekeepers on how to avoid bee stings. It is a must-read for every beekeeper. The picture of Dr. Gary (shown above) is the 2-page “center fold” for a book, “A Day in the Life of California”.
